1/6/2012 Update - We now have satellite internet service which has it's own problems, but should be more reliable than the previous ISP. This means the way that the Ranch Cam and Current Weather features work has to be changed. We're working on the changes, but you may notice old or no data at times for the next 24 hours. The updates to the features will at least initially be less frequent.
12/16/2011 - We continue to have intermittent problems with our internet connection. However, there are plans for a change in ISP in January. Until then, the Ranch Cam and Current Weather features may be intermittently unavailable. If that happens, wait a few minutes and try again. |

The ranch cam was starting to show signs of going bad, i.e. flickering when watching it live. Therefore, we purchased a new camera to use for the Ranch Cam feature. You may notice that this camera has a little wider angle lens so it will pick up Stoney Face mountain on the left side of the picture, and a little more sky. The picture seems to be a little higher quality and the color reproduction also seems to be a little better. Check it out and let us know what you think. |

11/25/201 Update - The new computer has been built, and other servers have been reconfigured and re-purposed, including the web server for the ranch cam images, etc. If you notice any problems, please let us know.
10/28/2011 Update - New computer hardware ordered today. It should be here mid next week.
10/26/2011 Update 2 - The weather station software is working as of about 7:15 PM. Took a little longer than usual because the driveway had to be plowed and then there was a 2 hour power outage. Still a few more things to do on the server, including starting to look for new server hardware.
10/26/2011 Update - Once again the server has crashed. Since the symptoms were the same, it must be a hardware issue. The server is being rebuilt on different hardware. Until it is rebuilt, the weather station feature will not be updating even though the page will show. Also, unrelated to the above, the camera stopped uploading pictures to a different server yesterday so it was showing a view that was sunny when it fact it is snowing. It appears that issue has been resolved and images should be current. |

9/21/2011 - The connection has been pretty solid for the last two weeks. So, hopefully there will be no more issues for a while.
9/1/2011 - Heard back from the ISP today. They have confirmed that there is an interference problem and they are discussing ways to deal with it. However, they said it could take anywhere from 1 week to 2 months. I'll try to wait it out since the only other choice is satellite. But it sure does get frustrating at times!
8/27/2011 - We are having internet connection issues with our ISP again and are working to resolve them. However, we don't expect resolution until next week. Until they are resolved, the Ranch Cam and Current Weather pages may not be available.
